Guamote, a canton in Ecuador, is renowned for its strong cultural roots and traditional practices. The region has a predominantly Indigenous population, accounting for 95% of its residents, which is significantly higher than the national average of 7%. Although Guamote has a modest population of 5,000 inhabitants, there are approximately 50 000 individuals residing in small communities throughout the neighboring mountains.
